Understand all the rules and limits.
21 articles
Propr trading rules cover the following areas:
- Risk limits: max daily loss and max drawdown apply at all times on both evaluation and funded accounts.
- Profit targets: required to pass the evaluation phase(s). No profit target on funded accounts.
- Leverage limits: vary by asset class (BTC/ETH 5x, other crypto 2x, equities and commodities 4x).
- Permitted strategies: no restrictions on scalping, news trading, overnight holding, bots, or copy trading (including between your own Propr accounts).
- Prohibited conduct: hedging across accounts, account cycling, coordinated trading, wash trading, and identity fraud are all banned.
The full rulebook is available at propr.xyz/rules.
Every update to the rules is logged in a public changelog, also on the rules page. We believe traders deserve to know exactly what changed, when, and why. No silent updates.
The complete limit tables for every account size are published on the rules page at propr.xyz/rules.
Quick reference:
- 1-Step: 3% max daily loss, 6% static max drawdown.
- 2-Step: 5% max daily loss, 8% trailing max drawdown.
Once you have a live account, your current equity limit and daily loss level are shown directly in the trading terminal.
The daily loss limit is the maximum equity loss allowed in a single day, measured from your day-start equity snapshot taken at 00:00 UTC. Equity includes any floating P&L from open positions.
- 1-Step evaluation: 3% of your day-start equity.
- 2-Step evaluation: 5% of your day-start equity.
The limit is calculated each day as day-start equity × daily loss %, so it scales with your account as equity grows. If your equity drops from the day-start snapshot by that amount at any point during the trading day, a breach is triggered immediately and the account is permanently closed. The same limits apply on funded accounts.

The maximum drawdown is the total amount your equity (balance plus unrealized P&L) can decline over the entire evaluation period. Unlike the daily loss limit which resets each day, the max drawdown is tracked across the entire challenge.
- 1-Step evaluation: 6% static drawdown. On a $10,000 account, your equity can never drop below $9,400. This floor is fixed. No matter how high your equity grows, the limit stays at $9,400.
- 2-Step evaluation: 8% trailing drawdown. On a $10,000 account, your floor starts at $9,200. As your equity reaches new highs, the floor rises with it. For example, if your equity grows to $10,300, your floor rises to $9,500. The floor never rises above the starting balance.
If your equity hits or drops below the drawdown floor at any point, a breach is triggered immediately and the account is closed. The same limits apply on funded accounts.

Trading fees mirror Hyperliquid directly and depend on the instrument:
- Crypto perpetuals: maker 0.015%, taker 0.045%
- Equities and commodities perpetuals: Growth Mode taker fee of 0.0045% to 0.009% depending on the market
These fees are charged by Hyperliquid and are not collected by Propr.
Exceeding either limit triggers an immediate breach. The following happens automatically:
- All open positions are closed instantly.
- The account is permanently disabled.
- No payouts are available from a breached account.
Breaches are permanent. There are no resets, soft limits, appeals, or exceptions of any kind. You do not need to manually close a trade for a breach to occur: if your floating P&L causes equity to touch the limit, the breach triggers in real time.
You are never liable for losses beyond your evaluation fee. To try again, purchase a new evaluation at propr.xyz/rules.
The following are banned on all Propr accounts, during evaluation and on funded accounts:
- Opposite hedging across accounts: opening opposing positions on the same instrument across two or more Propr accounts to guarantee one passes while the other breaches.
- Third-party coordination: colluding with other traders to share signals or create offsetting positions to exploit drawdown mechanics.
- Account cycling: repeatedly buying evaluations to take maximum-risk binary bets, treating the fee as a lottery ticket.
- Latency arbitrage and tick sniping: exploiting price feed delays to capture risk-free profits.
- Simulated or wash trading: executing trades with no genuine market risk to inflate account metrics.
- Account sharing or selling: each account is tied to one individual and cannot be transferred.
- Identity fraud: providing false information during registration or KYC.
- Exploiting platform bugs: using technical errors or price feed anomalies to generate profits.
Violating any of these rules results in permanent account termination. See the full list at propr.xyz/rules.
Hedging: You may hedge within a single account. What is prohibited is opening opposing positions across two or more Propr accounts to guarantee one passes while the other breaches.
Copy trading: Copy trading is fully permitted, including between your own Propr accounts.
Yes. You can hold multiple evaluations simultaneously, across any combination of account sizes and evaluation types. There is no restriction on how many evaluations you can run at the same time.
The only limit is on your total aggregate funded balance: you may not hold more than $200,000 in funded accounts across all your Propr accounts combined. Once you reach that cap, you will need to request a payout or close positions before opening additional funded accounts.
Note: running identical or mirrored trades across multiple Propr accounts is prohibited, regardless of how many evaluations you hold.
Maximum position sizes depend on the asset:
- BTC and ETH: $1,000,000
- Equities, Commodities, and FX: $1,000,000
- Large cap crypto (open interest above $100M): $150,000
- All other assets: 5% of the asset's open interest, rounded to the nearest $1,000 and clamped between $50,000 and $100,000. For example, a $1M OI asset has a $50,000 cap, a $1.5M OI asset has a $75,000 cap, and anything at $2M OI or above hits the $100,000 ceiling.
Position sizes are enforced at the order level. You can view the max position for every tradeable asset at propr.xyz/universe.
Absolutely. We actively encourage it. Propr offers a full trading API and Python SDK for building bots and AI agents. No restrictions on automated trading.
See our bot documentation for API endpoints, examples, and quickstart guides.
1-Step: Single phase, 10% profit target, 3% daily loss, 6% static drawdown. Higher fee.
2-Step: Two phases (5% then 10% target), 5% daily loss, 8% trailing drawdown. Lower fee.
Both have no time limit, no minimum trading days, and 80% profit split once funded.
No. Evaluation fees are non-refundable regardless of outcome. To try again after a breach, purchase a new evaluation at any time.
1-Step: $5K ($60), $10K ($110), $25K ($275), $50K ($495), $100K ($999)
2-Step: $5K ($50), $10K ($100), $25K ($250), $50K ($450), $100K ($749)
All accounts share the same 80% profit split once funded.
All open positions are immediately closed and the account is permanently disabled. No resets, appeals, or exceptions. You are never liable for losses beyond your evaluation fee.
To try again, purchase a new evaluation at any time.
Propr uses a hybrid A-Book / B-Book model:
- A-Book: trade routed directly to Hyperliquid, executed on-chain.
- B-Book: trade recorded internally by Propr, replicating Hyperliquid trade conditions 1:1 (same pricing, same orderbook depth, same slippage). Your execution experience is identical regardless of booking method.
Every trade is labeled with its execution method for full transparency. Our booking algorithm is open-source on GitHub.
Yes. Using a VPN is permitted on Propr. However, your KYC verification must match your actual country of residence. VPN usage does not exempt you from geographic restrictions.
If you are located in a restricted country, VPN usage will not allow you to bypass those restrictions.
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase an evaluation and participate in Propr. Age verification is part of the KYC process required before your first payout.
Propr uses Hyperliquid, which operates 24/7 for crypto perpetuals. There are no trading hour restrictions.
For equities and commodities perpetuals, market hours follow their respective schedules, but the Hyperliquid contracts may still be tradeable outside those hours depending on the asset.
Your trades are executed against real Hyperliquid orderbook conditions. Pricing, slippage, and fills reflect actual market depth.
With A-Booked trades, your order is placed directly on Hyperliquid on-chain. With B-Booked trades, Propr replicates the same conditions 1:1. Either way, you experience real market dynamics.
After a payout, your account balance resets to the initial funded amount. The daily loss limit is recalculated based on the reset balance at 00:00 UTC each day, so it effectively resets as well.
